It only took 30 years

But I finally got new counter tops. The counters were 1 inch square green and brown glass tiles. I hated them! They were hard to keep clean with all of those grout lines. They were uneven and would not stay glued down. There was one end of the counter that the tiles always came loose. I would reattach them but finally gave up. They ended up just laying there loose & ugly.

This is what I have now. CORIAN

Ain't it purdy!

Here are the faucets I selected. (just ignore the wall behind the counter) That will be the next thing to be updated. I won't even tell you what we had up there.

After we fix the torn up walls behind the counter it's on to the floor. I'm just hoping I can have most of it done before Christmas. Wish me luck!

I like the counter tops! Do you have a porch rail yet?

The counter tops, sink and faucets look great!! Oh man, that kitchen has needed a remodel for the longest time. I can't say I'm sad to see the ugly tile go. Now you need some pretty new canisters and utensil holders!

No I do not have a porch rail yet.

Everything is right where it was when you guys finished. The torn off old porch, the new wood, etc.

Maybe next spring that's a big maybe!

Maybe Christmas if I have time.

Love your Corian! We have it in our new house - as a result, my new best friend is Soft Scrub with bleach. Keeps it looking new (actually we have been in the "new" house five years, but the Corian still looks new). Congrats on your new kitchen!!

We were told not to use anything on it except soap and water. So soft scrub doesn't hurt it? The guys who installed it said the more you wash it with soap and water the more it will shine.

We are going today to look at tile for the walls. Should I get a color or stay with the white and beigh?

I've wanted a new kitchen for 22 years, but had to settle for a new nozzle on the kitchen faucet, lol, so I'm very envious of yours.

We have Corian in our bathroom and I love it! It really is easy to take care of. No one had ever heard of it back we got it to replace ORANGE formica. Yes, I'm serious...

Your kitchen is going to look fabulous!

Actually, the soft scrub idea came from a contractor that installs Corian. Mine is white (no specks of color) so that may make a difference. I also found that windex will take off red wine, red drink mix etc. And those Mr. Clean magic erasers are awesome too.
