Teens and Concerts

My daughter blogged about the fun she had at concerts when she was a teenager.

Now The Rest Of The Story.

My point of view was very different. The one I really remember she talked me into. I just had this feeling that something was going to happen. Ya know when you get those feelings. Against my better judgment I let her go. My daughter, her best friend (a nice girl I really liked) and these two thugs. I knew of these boys and didn't like what I had heard. My daughter is saying they are just a means of transportation. Just a way to get to and from the concert. So off they go to this concert in Wichita, 86 miles from home. It started getting late her Dad , not worried at all, goes to bed. I stayed up watching TV. Trying to get my mind off of all the terrible things that could happen. It begins to get much much much later. I'm really worried now, she isn't home, it's time for her to be home. The phone rings. I say hello, the voice at the other end says "Mom, we're at the police department in Park City, I say "WHAT, your Where"

To make a long story short, they all lived, they didn't have a wreck but they did get stuck in the mud. Lost somewhere on some road, tried to turn around and got stuck. The police came along and the boys were in no condition to drive and the girls didn't have drivers license yet.
I woke my husband. He contacted one of the boys Dad and they went and got the kids.

I don't know how she was able to go to so many concerts after that!

In my defense, we (the girls) had no idea the thugs (and yes, that is an apt description) were going to be doing massive amounts of Quaaludes, Valium and Acid. I didn't even know what those things were - I just wanted a ride to the concert.

I know one thing - the ride back home with Dad - MAJOR PISSED while I was awaiting my punishment of being grounded for life was a lot longer than the ride up there.

Thanks for keeping it real... I'll stick to my happier memories. LOL

I guess kids are put on this earth to try their parents, push them to the limits and get grounded!

Ahhhhh! The joys of motherhood. I just knew there had to be more to the story. Tammy didn't mention they were thugs. Too funny!

I'm putting you on my blogroll so I can visit regularly.

It is a wonder any of us survived our teenage years. I think we went to every concert that came along because there wasn't much else to do! Great to see you are blogging - looks like my son and I will be in Pratt during Christmas - hope to see the whole clan! :)
