I just realized that I didn't ever show my finished kitchen. So here it is, I love it.
The photo above is directly above my sink. When my daughter and I found this at Star Lumber we knew we had to have it. This is how I selected the rest of the tile for my kitchen.
If you enlarge the picture you can see the little decorative tiles. The colors in them went well with the medallion.
Please pay no attention to the dirty glasses in the sink. I just hadn't put them into the dishwasher yet, okay.
Just another view. If the tiles look chipped around the edges, they are. That is the way they are made. I liked it and they are not sharp or rough. After 30 years of a crappy kitchen I really enjoy my new kitchen. Now for the floor, soon real soon I hope.

I love love love the way the kitchen is now. A new floor is just going to be awesome!
That tilework and the faucet are absolutely great! And hey, I hear you are a successful non-smoker after taking Chantix. Congratulations! I'm on my second pack of pills, haven't smoked in 4 days, which is a record for me. I so hope this works as well for me as it did for you!
OMG - I am still amazed at what a difference that makes - just tile, countertops and sink. WHOA. Totally brought it out of the 70's!! What do we want to do next?
THE FLOOR!
