Day 2 of the New Year and all is okay

Hey, I have the the day off with pay which is great.

All of the Christmas decoration are packed and put away for another year.

I have been trying to get photos of some of the birds that come to our feeders. I would love to get the woodpeckers. We have two different types plus a flicker. They fly away as soon as I open the door. I did catch a cardinal before he took off.

This was taken from my deck. It is a good 60 to 70 feet to this feeder. I can't believe my little camera zoomed in this much. One of these days I will get the woodpeckers.

Walking down the hallway I noticed a Christmas decoration that I hadn't packed away and I may not. It makes a great night light. I think it is pretty even if I did make it.

Its just a glass block with a hole drilled in it. Then you stuff a string of 20 lights inside. That can be a chore because the hole is just big enought for the single light to fit in. After putting in the lights you find a pretty ribbon and tie a bow, plug it in. Thats it your all done. I have a box of these glass blocks with holes that my husband drilled. One of these days I will fix at least 5 more to give to the kids. If they want them?

Hello Tammy's mom. I'm surprised your daughter is still alive after posting a certain photo of you. She is a bad bad person, sometimes! You can tell her I said that, too.
Choose two photos. It's buy one get one free. My treat.
And your decoration is pretty, as are your birds!

I lub, lub, lub the glowing glass - it looks like a present! Mine is still under the tree. The tree I need to take down.

Snooty, It's those glass blocks that are used to build walls. You can get them at any lumber yard. Then you just need a bit for drilling into glass. We found ours at a hardware store. You have to drill carefully or the glass will chip. I do have a few chipped glass blocks. (just little chips around the hole)
